We're enjoying a very pleasant stretch of warm summer like weather with October day time temperatures between 24 & 29 degrees. We're hoping to have a lovely mild winter this year, with lots of sunshine.
Aerlingus direct flights to Toulouse cease this month but Ryanair have year round flights into Carcassonne from Dublin, Cork and several destinations in the U.K. So don't miss out. Keep you eyes open for some good flight offers and come and spend some time in this lovely region.

Ryan Air have opened a new route to Nice. Flights start from 7th November.
There are flights available from 0.01 cent each way in November and December.

Great news for anyone interested in visiting the beautiful historic town of Villefranche-sur-mer.

Exciting news!

Don't miss the 2007 Tour de France. This year we have it passing right by our house. Why not combine a short break while catching this fantastic sporting event, Or you may wish to to stay with us for longer, to follow the Tour as it approaches & leaves this area.

Here are the important dates of the Tour in this area
Friday 20 July 2007, 179 km, Montpellier > Castres
Saturday 21 July 2007, 54 km, Albi > Albi
Sunday 22 July 2007, 197 km, Mazamet > Plateau-de-Beille

Summer Time

Summer time is here. We have been having very warm weather the last couple of weeks, with temperatures in the 30's already. That's higher than normal for April.

It's nice to see lot's of walkers & cyclists passing daily now.

The forests are in full bloom and all our migrant bird visitors are back & nesting everywhere.

Little cold snap

We are having a little cold snap like in Ireland. Today we wake up to a little snow fall, with more forecast for the next couple of days.

Fishing season starts 10th March

Fishing season started yesterday 10th March. There are enthusiastic fishermen to be seen everywhere along the Durenque river which flows through Cambounes and Lingonie.

The Durenque river and all of the rivers in this region are classed grade 1 (offering the best fishing).

We're up and running and ready to receive our first guests. We're looking forward to our first year in business. Spring has really sprung into action. We're enjoying the sunshine and the longer days.
